Questions & Answers

Common questions about AI agents

What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is a program that completes a task from start to finish on its own, rather than only answering individual questions. It has access to the same tools as your team, such as an inbox, CRM, file storage or ticketing system, decides which steps are needed and speaks up when it is unsure.
How is an AI agent different from a chatbot?
A chatbot replies. An AI agent acts: it reads the request, gathers the relevant information, enters something into a system, produces a document or triggers a follow-up process. The difference is not language ability but access to tools and responsibility for an outcome.
Which tasks do AI agents typically take over?
The best fits are tasks that occur often, run in writing and have a checkable result: pre-qualifying enquiries, processing receipts and documents, maintaining data across systems, producing recurring reports. As a rule of thumb: whatever a new colleague could handle after a short onboarding is a candidate.
What happens when the agent makes a mistake?
We define up front where it may decide on its own and where it has to hand over to a human. Uncertain cases are escalated rather than guessed. Every new agent first runs in shadow mode, meaning it handles real cases while a person checks the result, before it takes over in production.
Where do the agents run and where does our data sit?
On European infrastructure. On request we use models hosted in the EU, or open-source models running entirely inside a controlled environment. What data an agent may see is decided per agent, not granted wholesale.
What exactly does "managed" mean?
You get more than the finished agent: you get the ongoing operation. Monitoring, fixing problems, model changes and adjustments when your workflows change. You need no AI specialists of your own, and you do not have to act every time the model landscape shifts.
How much does an AI agent cost?
It depends on the scope of the task and the integrations required. A clearly scoped agent is far quicker to price than one coordinating several systems. Tell us the task and you will get a free, no-obligation offer with clear costs for both the build and the operation.
How long until an agent is working in production?
Usually a few weeks for the first one. Most of that time goes not into the technology but into understanding the process precisely, edge cases included. After that, each additional agent in the same environment is considerably faster.
